They/she

I am an artist and tattooist born in Banff, Canada, whose most formative years were spent in Calgary and Hong Kong. Upon completing a BFA in Sculpture at The Alberta College of Art and Design in 2007, I moved to Vancouver to paint full-time. In 2016, I began a mentorship in tattooing. After working at Sticks and Stones tattoo, I formed a private studio, Tiger Daughters, with fellow tattooer Nik Martin (@peachbaby888), to carve out alternative space within a cis male-dominated industry. As we expanded our members and moved locations, we became Baohaus Collective in 2019, with the goal of providing a quiet, safe space for marginalized folks.

My artwork primarily engages with themes of multi-racial identity, queerness, and neurodivergence. As a half-Chinese / half white person raised within North America as well as Asia, I have been shaped significantly by my liminal existence within spaces that find me to be alien. It is through intentional engagement with my heritage and communities that I’ve been able to build an identity that feels like a home. My practice as a tattooer, in particular, attempts to define and build the unique cultural symbols of Asian diaspora.
